Kitchen Kompanions

The Community Kitchen Program of Calgary and the Alberta Network of Immigrant Women (ANIW) offer Kitchen Kompanions, a three-week program celebrating food, healthy cooking, memories, and the stories behind their favourite recipes.
Designed for seniors, you can learn about cooking, connect, and share the food traditions and knowledge that are meaningful to you. Throughout the program, participants can also contribute recipes, stories, and cooking wisdom toward a community resource book that will preserve and share their love of healthy cooking.
This is for seniors who enjoy cooking, sharing food traditions, and connecting with their community.
No professional cooking experience is required, just bring your favourite recipes, stories, and love of food!
Each session will explore a different theme and provide opportunities to:
- Share favourite foods, recipes, and cooking memories
- Receive a free Good Food bag at the end of the sessions
- Explore healthy cooking ideas and practices
- Connect and learn from other participants
- Share cultural food traditions and personal stories
- Contribute recipes and stories to the Kitchen Kompanions resource book
- Enjoy a welcoming and social community kitchen experience
